Wip World Map Of A Fantasy World And Story I M Slowly Working On (wip) still working on the shapes of my continents for the northwest quadrant of my world, any suggestions for what i could do better? considering making the center continent a lot smaller since the ocean feels a bit cluttered. Otherwise i could prolly make the (2) southern northeastern continent a bit more drier. a bit unsure about the (3) northern coastal line at the foot of the mountain range on my western, big continent. yes it is in the tropical zone, but the southeasterly tradewinds should kind of move the air away from there. i don't know.

Wip Still Working On The Shapes Of My Continents For The Northwest Tl;dr: my method for this = focus on 1 place at a time by creating a detailed map of each continent [including off shore islands tied to that continent]. get that continent island looking spiffy af, then go to the world map and essentially copy what you did to the world map. then move on to the next continent. Step one: random starting position. if you already have a placement or certain biome in mind for your continent, start there. i however, have a problem getting off the blank page so i like a random starting position for my continent. remember, nothing is set in stone. if you don’t like how it turns out you can move the continent or trash it. However, the shapes, sizes, and positions of the continents do not persist forever. over long periods of time, the continents drift into new configurations, as the plates carrying them move across earth’s surface. the plates—and thus the continents—move at a rate of about 0–5 inches (0–13 centimeters) per year. A continent is larger than an island and is usually made up of multiple countries and spans millions of square miles. the 7 continents of the world are north america, south america, antarctica, europe, asia, africa, and australia. watch what are the seven continents.
