Sprites For Sale V 2 By Watertrainer On Deviantart Quick and easy 1 hour sprite making tutorial. i had a lot typed up here but this website ate it. to summarize: i use this technique to get started. for me it's faster and less frustrating than starting with line art. i hope somebody can get some use from it. Step 4: cleaning. sharpen the outlines until they’re 1 pixel wide. don’t be afraid to break some outlines, and don’t worry about finer details yet. make a layer just for the lines (delete all white). zoom in and clean up the outlines. if you ‘re in to breaking lines, this is the place to do it. So, since some people have been asking me about this, i decided to get my ass in gear and cook up a tutorial. so far, i've only got the girls part covered, but i intend on making a second part with advice on spriting boys. I wanted to do a tutorial on how i personally do my sprite edits. this specific edit is for a pesterquest sprite, but it can work for other 2d sprites as wel.

This technique is called "dithering" by making a checker pattern one can make it seem like colors are blending together into one. it can also be used to make two completely different colors seemingly blend together. plus it can also be used as a way to get some texture in your shading. so the sprite looks more furry. Oh yeah, and one of my biggest things for people when starting out is to try and choose a character that they are familiar with because that will make it much easier to start out. play the character a bit and try to get used to any quirks and such. but more feedback as well too is in order.
