1 Types Of Research Informed Teaching Approaches Adapted From The purpose of this study is to understand the impact of research informed teaching (rit) on lecturersโ€™ teaching practice in a wide range of disciplinary traditions. the importance of integrating research into teaching for the benefit of students, and for the good of societies, has been widely recognised (brew, 2012; stern, 2016). Hide. research informed teaching refers to the practice of linking research with teaching in higher education. most universities in the world are organised into teaching and research divisions. professors and lecturers will normally be contracted to do both and, in theory at least, course syllabi are structured around the teacher's research.
