Outwardly, he maintained the appearance of his ties to the jedi and republic. in secret, pong krell had embraced the dark side of the force. around 21 bby, when the shadow planet umbara seceded from the republic, pong krell was given command over the 501st legion, serving as an interim general during anakin skywalker's absence.
One With The Force Pong Krell Pong krell was a male besalisk jedi master who served as a jedi general in the grand army of the republic during the clone wars. a powerful jedi and a recognized war hero, he was relentless in his tactics on the battlefield, seeking success at all costs. as a combatant, he was an especially ferocious lightsaber duelist; the advantage of four arms allowed him to wield two double bladed. Wouldn't give pong krell good odds against anyone more capable than early midwar ahsoka tbh. maul would wreck him with the force, and dooku, anakin, and kenobi scale favourably to maul. ditto adult ahsoka given the duel with vader. windu, yoda, or sideous is a spite match. he'd be crushed (quite possibly literally) by any of those three. Given how unstoppable krell was in full on combat, it's no wonder how the clones either opt to, or accept orders to, kill the jedi without attempting arrest during order 66, since a jedi alerted to their intentions and "resisting arrest" proved fatal for a lot of clones. taradosgon, jan 1, 2012. #7.
