My Painted Life Grizzly Bear Wildlife Painting Demo Day 2 This is about 2 hours in on day 2. i've layed in a mid tone color for the water, and added some highlights. i've also done more refining on the bear. just darkening between the wet clumps and accentuating some of the lights, trying to get that feeling of form instead of flatness. My Painted Life Grizzly Bear Wildlife Painting Demo Day 2 Painting fur in detailed realism is done w layers of paint in either acrylics or oil. honestly a bit too long, crappy and rambling is that what i sound. Oil on gessoed hard board. 10 x 8. available. i painted this gorgeous grizzly for a four part oil painting tutorial. when i saw the reference with its beautiful muted lighting and soft background, i knew this would be a great painting and an even greater tutorial. i got the reference on pixabay as i do with a lot of my references for tutorials. Dilute some burnt umber. make this life saver watery and grab the brush you want to use for this step (for me, i used the fourth item in the photo) and brush this diluted colour over the whole of your painting. this step is repeated after every layer, as it blends the fur together and gives it a warm, deep brown hue. This one is larger than life! in this studio demo i use charcoal and acrylic to draw and paint a huge grizzly bear portrait. i had so much fun with this one .
