This project shows how to install an ethernet jack for a home network with wiring instructions and photos.the home network is extended to the basement game room by running cat 5e cable and installing a new ethernet jack. a "wired" network connection was needed at this location due to a weak wifi (wireless) lan signal.

Home Rack Setup New Home Rack I Just Setup Cableporn Bodyenwasubuk Advice. hi everyone! looking for some network rack location advice. i currently have a 2 level home (basement 1st floor), where my wife and i rent out our basement as it’s a basement suite (anywhere in the basement is basically off limits). it’s an older home that has been renovated. so there are no ethernet or phone jacks anywhere. Custom built servers again, in identical rosewill cases with 12x hotswap bays. the hardware is mixed, it's mostly cast off from my old desktops or extra stuff from here or there. top case contains an amd a6 3670, 4 cores @2.7ghz, 18gb ddr3 ram. the bottom server is an amd 1090t, 6 cores @ 3.6ghz (i think there's a slight overclock here), 24gb. Step 3: filling up the rack. first, the server. it’s a full sized tower with a full sized atx motherboard. i don’t want to get rid of perfect hardware, so i ordered a 4u rack mountable chassis. due to the global supply chain issues and shortages, it’s still on its way. This rack holds up to 881lbs! it also sports a deep 37″ (94cm) equipment depth, (17″ (43cm) depth on the shallow version if you need to save some space). for those who want to go really big, you can join these racks side by side to grow as needed. this rack also includes lots of slots for hook n loop cable managers.

The good news, is that after re punching the cat5e at both ends (jack and patch panels) all of the cables did pass spec. that was great news. what wasn’t great news is that i initially didn’t have time to deal with the rest of the situation and just sat all of my network gear on some crappy ikea shelves instead of installing a home network rack on the wall. Support this channel on patreon: patreon thegeekpubin this video, i install a 19" home network equipment rack to get all of my switches, route.
