My Great Dane Princeton Our Dog Broke A Window Years ago a neighbor's dog ran up to my window and started barking at my dog. she wasn't too happy about that, and ended up breaking a window pane. i went to lowes (or was it home depot) and bought a plexiglass pane to cover the entire lower part of that window. you might want to consider something like that. My dog has been reactive since i got her. the shelter told me she was a nice calm lap dog, but she is completely the opposite. things got even worse after she was attacked by 2 pits in july. today, she heard someone walking outside, and tried to jump through the window. only this time she broke it.

Block your dog’s access to your windows. install a window guard to prevent contact between your dog and the windows. many guards mount to the window frame, so you can still use window blinds if you would prefer. invest in thicker, more durable window coverings. blinds made of heavier materials will reduce the risk of them bending and breaking. First teach your dog to bark on cue. that’s right – teach your dog to bark! we are going to put the behavior on cue so you can control it. give your dog the cue to “speak”. let him bark 3 times and then pop a wonderful treat in front of him as you say “quiet”. practice this in a quiet area with no distractions.
