Movie Review Ghostbusters 1984 The Ace Black Blog Vrogue Co June 8, 1984. 3 min read. “ghostbusters” is a head on collision between two comic approaches that have rarely worked together very successfully. this time, they do. it’s (1) a special effects blockbuster, and (2) a sly dialogue movie, in which everybody talks to each other like smart graduate students who are in on the joke. For me, ivan reitman's 1984 ghostbusters was always one of those films. despite having never seen a single scene of the actual 80s classic, i had a pretty good idea of what it was about.

Ghostbusters 1984 вђ Film Review вђ Zekefilm Sigourney weaver and annie potts both do a fantastic job with the roles they are given, but that doesn’t mean that it can't feel a little lacking watching it now. the same goes for the one black character in the film, played by ernie hudson. ghostbusters is a great movie, a classic for totally deserved reasons. After all, ghostbusters make no real judgment on religion much like the lord makes no mention of a giant smore’s bar ingredient being a biblical sign of the apocalypse. our intrepid heroes. dan aykroyd, harold ramis, and bill murray in ghostbusters (1984). the movie still blows me away with how beautiful it was shot. Murray is the main reason to watch the movie. it’s that old ’80s comedy joke that he’s just a total prick but passes it off as charm and is never punished for it. some movies like that date poorly (see jay leno pulling women over to get their phone numbers in collision course), but murray’s overpowering lovableness seems to be timeless.
