Lly Duramax Engine Diagram Coolant Leak From Bottom Of Bell Housing Ranger007. 139 posts · joined 2010. #9 · jan 7, 2022. changed my tank out today on 2020 l5p . have been getting the low coolant message on and off for a few weeks. filled it and message went off for about a week then back on. never was low on fluid in the tank hot or cold. ordered a tank for $85 shipped to the house. A warning from a much poorer and wiser 2015 gmc owner that had coolant loss. i just got my truck back after a two month long engine repair. coolant loss was head gaskets failure mostly through the exhaust valves apparently. heads were "bananas" from overheating caused warping and had to be machined with all valves replaced.

Coolant Type And Low Coolant Message Chevy And Gmc Duramax 57 Of Low coolant level. so i just bought the truck a few weeks ago and now i have a low coolant level message on the dash i'm thinking 3 things. 1. dexacool is awful and eats seals up and i need more fluid. 2. i have a leak somewhere. i have not seen any drops, but will b on the look out for them. 3. The coolant reservoir is separated into two parts. the normal reservoir, which has your pressure cap on it and will be full all the time and the level will fluctuate a little when cold vs hot. that level is always checked cold (tank has full cold mark on it). the other section of the tank is the overflow surge tank. Good evening, i have an 03 lb7. while driving today i got a low coolant level message to display. i pulled over and checked my res next to the passenger fender. it was at the seam line like always. i restarted my truck and did not get the message again. i drove home and temps were at normal levels.
