Jeep Cooling Fan Switch Override Install Youtube Having cooling issues out on the trail? in this video i will show you how to install a cooling fan override switch. today we will be installing on the factor. Just a short video on how i installed a fan override switch on my 01 jeep xj. there are several ways of doing this on jeeps. xjs especially seem to run a lit.

Jeep Xj Build Auxiliary Cooling Fan Override Switch Install To S Jeep xjs have a history of running hot and overheating (aka heat soak) and the sandbox is no exception. in this video we install a fan override switch from k. Auxillary fan override switch write up *pics*. note: this is intended to be a cheap, alternate solution to turning your auxiliary fan on off. i used some wire and a toggle switch. if this does not work for some of the 97 xj's and throws a cel, i am sorry. it is a hit and miss with those. Separate the green wire leading to the fan relay from the other wires. using the wire cutters, cut that green wire in half. this is where you're going to attach the diode. you can now clip the bottom back onto the fuse box and use the plastic plug you removed in step 2 to secure it back in place. The "jeep" signal connects to the tipm's fan pwm output (the green wire to the fan), and the "fan" signal connects to the other end of the cut green wire from the fan. 12v0 goes to a switch on the dash that just gives fused 12v to the board. jeep pad goes to the jeep side of green wire, fan to the fan side, and 12v power to override the fan on.

Well, i envision that this switch would be in the "normal" position most of the time and only in the "override" position when needed. i'm currently having cooling issues and it would be nice to be able to bypass the fan relay and have the fan blowing full blast if needed. i seem to be having problems with the fan not blowing when it needs to. I have an 81 cj7 that has had a 350 chevy installed. it has an electric cooling fan and a flex a lite adjustable temperature control that is wired exactly as is shown in the attached image (except the power is coming from the radio fuse, not straight from the ignition). it is using the override switch (manual on off) as well.
