Step 1: fold and glue the helmet's top dome. print out the templates on a desktop printer or cnc cutter. check out the printing tips on page 9 to plan for your tool or printing strategy. let's start with a few tips for gluing as you start on the helmet's main dome. Step 4: sand. this is the most meticulous part of the process, but it is very important to get right. this is the step that does the most to smooth the helmet and get rid of the 3d printer lines. sand down the dried putty and use steel wool to help wipe off the dust. the pictures above are what my helmet looked like after this step.
