Diesel No Start After Fuel Filter Change Diesel F Truck won't start after fuel filters changed. i replaced the frame mounted and under hood filters. i hit the start button, without touching the brake, 6 times to prime it. then tried to start and it just turns over then stops. so i hit the start button four more times without touching the brake pedal and same thing. Start over, remove the lower fuel filter, make sure the o ring is seated correctly in the grove, tighten it back up making sure you tighten it till you hit the stop. double check the upper fuel filter to make sure both lines are snapped on correctly (tug on them gently). cycle the key 6 times for 30 seconds before trying to start to purge the.
Diesel Fuel Filter Change With No Start Fix After Filte We have all heard about making sure we cycle the key on off to prime the fuel system after changing the fuel filters, but how many key cycles does it actually take till you have good pressure? i've heard you need anywhere from 2 10 key cycles waiting till the fuel pump shuts off (~20 seconds) for each cycle. i just so happen to need to change.
