This project was selected as a winner in aia's 2023 interior architecture awards. with a modular design that evokes other important structures in washington, d.c.’s historical southwest neighborhood, the southwest public library by perkins&will is on track to become a new civic landmark—and a model for the integration of contextual architecture and sustainable building technologies. Working with building design architect ten arquitectos, core created an interior environment that seamlessly integrates with the building design while celebrating dcpl’s forward thinking approach to its facilities’ design and a multitude of programmatic offerings and services for the community.
