Aia Ny Stissing вђ Larson Architecture Works Larson architecture works designed stissing center opens to the public. after four years of planning and construction, the stissing center, a new cultural non profit and event venue at the foot of stissing mountain in pines plains, a town in dutchess country, ny, has completed phase one of its renovation. since it was built in 1915 as memorial. With the amount of attention that it’s getting these days, it’s hard to believe the stissing center sat abandoned for 30 years. originally built as the memorial hall for the town of pine plains in 1915, the building has had several lives. initially, it served as a meeting hall and performance space, before being used as an office building. A group of caring and committed town leaders conceived the idea while the design and architecture was carried out by doug larson of larson architecture works pllc, along with structure works and a dedicated team of contractors, directors and board members. it is an incredible opportunity to participate in civic project and to make a difference.
