The 2004 model 5.3 has dbw throttle body, so you'll need the tac module and pedal if you stay with that throttle body. or you can use a 99 02 dbc throttle body to convert it for cable use like your s10 has from the factory. like others have said there are lots of little things that are tight fitting or need attention to get them to work properly. Well that nasty burnout we did seems to have created a worse water leak behind the water pump in the 5.3 ls that’s swapped into our 2000 s10 daily driver. th well that nasty burnout we did. Well, a standard 350 chev is easier and a bunch cheaper. so, you need to decide if you have the time, money, and need to swap an 5.3l into your s10. some examples: the front accessory drive on your 4.3 will work on a 350. but the ls1 5.3l is completely different, meaning you need all new accessories (either c5 c6 or truck accessories to work).
