One more must have activity to keep place value skills fresh is this set of word problems! they’re awesome for spiral review of number sense all year long. you can use the whole set at once, or use one each day. they’re great for a quick math warmup question or exit ticket. you can also pair them with a board game for an instant center. For example, i would set my place value stations something like this: building numbers using place value manipulatives–center 1 for 15 minutes. solving simple place value riddles or word problems–station 2 for 15 minutes. ordering numbers–math center 3 for 15 minutes. rounding numbers–station 4 for 15 minutes. This interactive notebook covers many place value and number sense skills. multiple versions of most activities allow for differentiation. most activities have printables for 2 digit, 3 digit, and 4 digit numbers. i have also added some 5 digit activities. students can practice the same skill but at their independent level.
